Key Takeaways To Tune In For

  • No matter what you tell yourself, you probably DO NOT work better under pressure.
  • “I work better under pressure” is usually just code for: “I am a procrastinator”
  • You convince yourself that you work better under pressure, but in reality it is just that when the deadline looms that you start to take action. It is taking action that is allowing you to accomplish things, not being last minute.
  • Never finishing things and going back to finish them later can create more work for you, because you might have to go back and fix it and you would also spend time trying to refresh your memory.
  • Accepting to do something without really thinking through if you are able to do it, you end up losing credibility with others and also with yourself.
  • A way to develop confidence is to stick to your word. This way, the next time you try to accomplish something, you have your word to fall back on. You will know that everytime you said you will do something, you followed through.
  • It’s not about what other people think, you need to think about what you think. Losing credibility with yourself is a big deal.
  • If people view you in a certain negative light, the first step to overcoming that is deciding what you want to be known for instead. You then have to take small steps that align with what you want to be known for instead.
  • If you tend to overcommit, the next time someone asks you to do something, instead of immediately saying yes, start telling people “let me think about it and I’ll get back to you”.
